The Long Haul services are ones that require a greater time and energy investment than a traditional edit or other service. They also have the additional option of a one-on-one Skype (or phone call) session with me at regular intervals. I’m here to see you through all steps of the publication process.
The Think Tank: This is one of my favorite services, and it’s kind of hard to explain since there is no one-size-fits-all formula for it. For this, I will sit down with you (metaphorically, most likely) and help you brainstorm and plan your book. It includes as many sessions as you need to feel like you’ve got a handle on your story. I will help throw out ideas, help you tweak your existing ideas, help you bring together subplots, help you create realistic characters, and help you structure your story. This is your time. I will use various resources, including my
thousands of writing reference books, during our sessions, which will be live, either through Skype or another service. If possible, I will record our sessions, allowing you to replay them as many times as you need. ($40/hour, 1-hour minimum).
The Cheerleader: Are you someone who needs an accountability partner to keep on track? [Sometimes I need one too!] As your personal cheerleader, I will check in with you on a regular basis at a time of your choosing (daily, weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, etc.), and I will keep you accountable to your progress. I will also help you create a goal and an action plan around that goal to meet your literal or figurative deadline. Correspondence is sent via email, though I am open to 30-minute Skype sessions per check-in. ($20/check-in, 4 check-ins minimum)
The Coach: Maybe you want accountability, but you also want one-on-one help and guidance with real-time advice? What you need is a writing coach. This is my favorite service I offer because it allows us (author and coach) to develop a working relationship as the book is being written. If you’re interested in a writing coach and want to learn more, click here. ($150/month, one-month minimum)
The Ghostwrite: Do you have a story you want to tell but you either don’t have the time to devote to writing or you feel like you don’t know how to say what you want? Ghostwriting may be the option for you. Each project is different, but they all come with at least three 1-hour conversations in order to pin down your story and your voice. The latter is, quite possibly, the most important aspect since your voice is how you present your message to the world, and I want it to be authentic. This service also includes the first draft and one additional rewrite after you review it. It does not include the three tiers of editing. ($10,000+, depending on the project)
